Supporting the local community
We’d like to introduce Dylan Barney. Dylan is a local boy, living in Finchley, an extremely talented and successful young golfer, and now the youngest member of the Barnet Window Company team!
Aged only 5, Dylan has recorded an impressive five victories from his eight tournaments in his debut season playing on the 2017 British Junior Golf Tour (BJGT), in the 6 and Under age division.
By winning a qualifying tournament for the IMG Academy Junior World Championship 2018, he’s claimed one of only two age group places on the BJGT team to represent the United Kingdom at the Championship’s in San Diego, California, next month.
It is a highly prestigious junior event, rich in history. Many players from previous Championships have gone onto become players and winners on the PGA and European tours, Ryder Cup players and even captains. Some have gone on to major success, amongst others Rory Mcilroy, Jason Day, Justin Thomas, Ernie Els, Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods.
The event will be staged at various courses around San Diego over a week, beginning with the Opening Ceremony at the Torrey Pines Golf Club (venue of the 2008 US Open), and closing with the trophy presentation.
This is a wonderful opportunity for Dylan and we’re so proud of everything he’s achieved so far. We want to wish him the very best of luck for the tournament, and hope he has an amazing time on the trip.
Dylan has politely asked if we know of any like-minded individuals or companies who might be able to help him with his travel and accommodation costs for the trip. If you might be able to help, or know anyone else that might want to, we’d love to hear from you, please give Tommy a call on 020 8449 4747.
We’ll be sure to update you all on how he gets on in San Diego.
Good luck Dylan!
