Through decades of dedicated product development Masterframe have developed the leading traditional timber alternative sash window range available, embracing modern technology to create a beautiful period window which is practical, secure, and efficient.
We are passionate about Sash windows and could talk about them all day (and often do…) but today we are going to choose our three favourite features of Bygone sash windows:-
1. Timberweld joints
The development of Timberweld technology allows us to create perfect sealed wood effect joints on all parts of our Bygone sash windows. A perfect example of modern technology and engineering embracing traditional features. Gone are clumsy mitred welded joints, with Timberwelds you only see classical butt joints.
2. FINEO
Another great example of modern technology pushing boundaries to give you unprecedented thermal and sound performance, whilst also taking us closer in appearance to original single glazed timber sash windows. The vacuum insulating glass allows us to use 10mm thick sealed units, with a tiny vacuum separating the two panes of glass, instead of a conventional gas-filled cavity. This vacuum improves the thermal and sound efficiency to standards beyond even modern triple glazed units, without the durability, weight, and aesthetic issues.
3. London Sash
Admittedly not something that we would be working with every day, but based where we are in Herts and North London, we come across a fair few examples of original London Arch windows. Thankfully Masterframe’s hands on and highly skilled approach to manufacture allows us to perfectly replicate beautiful arched top sashes so that you can maintain this original period feature of your home.
